Got a couple things to tell you about this month... First is our new series of videos called "Strapbusters!" Secondly, we've got another big batch of straps we just sent down to Atlanta, GA.

We've been seeing some competitors out there with straps that look like ours, so we decided to test them and see how strong they are. Click on the movie below to find out what happened!

One of the main problems with straps is the stuff you can't see, like the heat treat of the metal. As you can see in the picture of our competitor's strap, the hook at the top looks fine! There is no way you can tell how an assembly is going to hold up without doing a destructive pull test. At Autohauler Supply, we trust manufacturers to make the straps to our specifications, but we also test. It's like Ronald Reagan said when he was negotiating with the Soviet Union: "Trust, but verify!"

One difference you can see is the thickness of thread and the stitch pattern. One of the straps featured in the video above has a much smaller stitch pattern than our straps. In the photo below, we compare stitch pattern. The blocks on the oversize graph paper are 1 inch by 1 inch.
