Factory-direct savings made a lot of sense to us, and apparently it made a lot of sense to our customers.

Warehouses have costs. Factory-direct shipping was our attempt to squeeze some costs out of the system. Warehouses have to pay capital costs to store stuff. They've got to pay for fork trucks. Employees. Health insurance. Lights. Heat. Liability Insurance. Worker's Comp. Taxes. It goes on and on.

The thing is, most manufacturers HAVE places where they store finished goods. We figured, they might as well just go straight to the guys who need them!

For those of you who stayed awake in Geometry class in high school, this is known as traversing the hypotenuse of the triangle... it's the shortest distance between two points.

No. I didn't stay awake in Geometry, but apparently my wife did.
