My old friend Eric from Arctic Auto Transprot sent me this photo. In some situations, the car tire will be right up close to the flip up plate. When you go to un-strap the wheel strap, the bracket of the swivel J hook hits the flip-up plate before the hook is all the way out of the hole. Obviously, you don't want to flip the hook around so the hook tip is aimed at the tire. So what do you do? (Use a lot of curse words to get it out, and probably scrape your knuckles.)

Autohauler Supply has created a full line of straps made using the welded swivel J hook. In fact, we have two different types of welded swivel J hooks. One we specifically brought in for owners of Boydstun trailers, and the other one we brought in for owners of Cottrell trailers. The ones for the Boydstun trailers uses a thinner hook, that can fit the slots on the sides of the trailer. The Cottrell is a thicker hook (approximately 5/8 of an inch, and has a higher working load limit.

The Heavy Duty Low-Profile Welded Swivel J Hook Wheel Strap below is perfect for Cottrell, Wally-Mo, or Delevan car haulers. It uses the bigger hook, and it is available in 10 different Diamond Weave colors. (Diamond Weave has two different patents for abrasion resistance, plus edge protection. These are woven and stitched in the USA, and they are tagged for 3,333 lbs working load limit.
