What makes Diamond Weave™ different?
Diamond Weave™ is a webbing design that is engineered to be more resistant to wear and tear, drawing on two separate patents: US Patent No. 6,283,167 B1 & US Patent No. 8,136,555 B1. It is easy to see the difference in quality between regular webbing and Diamond Weave webbing in this video:
Diamond Weave™ is designed to have reduced friction with exterior surfaces. As seen below, the pattern of warp and weft yarns is designed so that the surface of the weave has alternating hills and valleys. Since the weave surface is no longer flat, only part of the webbing can touch an exterior surface, reducing the surface on which a frictional force can act on. With less friction, you get less abrasion; with less abrasion, you get much longer-lived straps!

In addition to its resistance to wear and tear on the surface of the webbing, Diamond Weave™ is designed to be more resistant to abrasion along the edge of the webbing. As shown here, Diamond Weave utilizes a simulated chain stitch on the outside edge of the webbing. This simulated chain stitch is far less exposed to the surface of the webbing, making it difficult to unravel and increasing webbing longevity.

Here is a photo that shows how different the weave of Blue Diamond Weave webbing is from ordinary yellow webbing. When I got my first sample of Diamond Weave, I knew this was going to really help the guys with the next gen car trailers who were strugglng with wheel straps that were either too thick or too thin.
Which of these wheel straps do you suppose will hold up better in the extreme conditions found on a car hauler trailer or a flatbed or heavy haul trailer? Diamond Weave is made from a newly patented process that protects against both abrasion, as well as minimizes the damage caused by nicking and fraying of the edges. It's woven in the USA and stitched to order for you in the USA also. If you thought America wasn't still manufacturing, think again! Available for pickup in the Dallas shop, and soon, Chicago also.
- This strap has stripes 1/8th of an inch in from the outside edges to help you assess strap wear.
- The different weave on the outside 1/8th of an inch prevents unraveling across the transverse face of the strap.
- The tigher "knot-like" weave of the strap resists wear and tensions immediately, even when the strap is new. Standard weave straps tend to stretch out more before they are "broken in"
- Superior abrasion resistance!
- A lot of our customers say they really like how these straps don't sponge up water and freeze into a tangled mess like regular straps.

Replacement straps to fit Cottrell Next Gen trailers, or if you want to convert your existing chain trailer into a strap trailer:

We can make you car hauler wheel straps with rubber cleats, tread grab sleeves, or nothing but hooks. Or even just a bolt loop on the end so you can re-use your existing hooks and sleeves if they're still in serviceable conditions.

And yes, we also have blue diamond weave available for enclosed car trailers with horizontal or vertical e-track Click here.

And last but not least, we also are offering basket wheel straps (tire bonnets) in a fully adjustable design. If you can dream it and email us a drawing, we can probably build it for you. Behold the fully adjustable car hauler wheel bonnet:
